Pat the cat entrapped in a hat puggaree
floated the lake of possibilities.
Breeze stilted,
gold-ribbon sail wilted
The lake winked,
‘better think,
not deciding is still a decision
of sinking or a collision
with swimming dogs, frogs and a hog on a log
They can’t see you in the fog!’
Pat feared should she dip her paws
giant jaws and claws
will tear kitty
into itty-bitty…
‘Wait, this phobia’s irrational
though for a cat natural.’
But vampire-bats chased her to the flats
where she hid in a cream and catnip vat
and met King Tomcat lounging in the butterfat.

Thanks, Melissa. 🙂 It would be quite fun lounging in butterfat if you were a cat, I imagine.
