The perfect words always strike,
when the might of the pen is far from sight
Should the thick of slumber, flurry or conversation
be punctuated with ‘excuse me, you inspired a sensation?’
Our mind parallels a wordsmith lottery
the phrases stream a stylish, passionate story!
But when we make time for writing
nothing inciting invites or is biting
The letters quiver at the editor’s knife
Oh to write, it is no ordinary life
Wonderful words and lovely shot.

Great picture! I find a notebook kept by the bed helps to get thoughts on paper for later. How sad it is to try to recall that bit of inspiration now lost in a dream that is forgotten. 🙂

I seem to have an opposite problem: so much to write about, too few quiet moments to let the words spill out. You always put a fun twist in your words. Love it.

Thanks Barbie, for your kind words. You are so creative. I hope you find more word-spillage time. 😀

Dear LHN,
Why is it the muse strikes at the most inopportune times? I related to your poem. Nicely done.

LHN, Memory can be a slippery little critter. My dreams of late have been too boring to write about. At least they’re not nightmares. Good and well-written piece. 🙂 —Susan

Thanks Susan, My dreams also slither away as I wake of late, leaving wafts of emotion to fragile to cogitate. 🙂
