The silver lining lays closest to your skin

storm, diamond, wonder,
“Clouds come floating into my life, no longer to carry rain or usher storm, but to add color to my sunset sky.”
― Rabindranath Tagore, Stray Birds

Up and out for a day of Adventure.
Did not expect it to be a drencher.
Heavy rain drowned the view, the sounds.
Still excitement knew no bounds

Reaching our destination
Saturated with precipitation
Foreboding showed it’s visage
One thing wowed: a homage
‘Nature is’ and that is all
I ran the hill through the squall
We arrived feeling spry
Our shelter preserved the sort-of dry

The diamond droplet cloud
presented quite a shroud
Regardless we had a sunny day
in our minds at least, under the spray
of happy just to be out and about
Just because it’s wet, why bow out?

I have never seen a cloud so formed
It had rebel stormed, yet I felt warmed
We needn’t incline to circumstance
or careen to the mal de mer of turbulence
When there persists another view
to see the beauty shine through

The silver lining lays closest to your skin
The outer drapery protects what lies within
The lining caresses your inner weather
Take care to what you tether
your reflections, speculations, ideation
can be your detractor or your salvation

Any situation, sensation gestating
are thoughts incanting, expanding, creating
Let us notice the good, the kind
gawk at the wonder, freedom in our mind
Dismiss all the disparaging guck
Let our jubilant imagination run amok 😀

  1. This sounds like a wonderfully fun adventure shared. We don’t melt in the rain, it can be very invigorating, as long as we have a shelter to run to when we are drenched and cold. You are right that life is not so much about whether there is sunshine or storms, but how we react to them that determines our happiness. There is always a way we can dance in the rain!
