A sign of the times?

be yourself, happiness

I love the cheeky side of her psyche
She ‘honors’ the shot without baring teeth
Manufactured sentiments are unlikely
But which encounters grow a piece of a lackluster sheath?

Millions of thoughts unsung
Captured and restless in her throat
Shall they make it to her tongue?
Or will words of note lounge afloat?

A Looney Eclipse of societal rules
that hitch and hike to such a place
where there’s only room for fools
What will remain of her genuine face?

I pray her true self will live and thrive
yes I believe she is far too wise
(she only knows to be completely alive)
to marry into the world’s disguise

  1. Love this poem. Could connect to it 🙂

    especially these lines –
“A Looney Eclipse of societal rules
that hitch and hike to such a place
where there’s only room for fools
What will remain of her genuine face?

I pray her true self will live and thrive
yes I believe she is far too wise.”

  2. Being cheeky certainly keeps your spirit alive and gets you through the world…It is true that the way we are alive changes as we get older but if we are lucky it stays in some shape and form throughout the times

  3. When we observe our children growing up how often we must muse about their adult lives. It is as though we want to live it for them. It is a sense of loss perhaps that makes us do this now they are still part of us then they will be their own people. It is a little death we have to have with each child. We want to be with and in them for ever…then the grandchildren come.
