I had just moved across the country. She’d been displaced from her family. We’d both lost someone we loved dearly.
She was my first new friend; the most beautiful baby girl I’d ever seen. As soon as we had a home, I set about making her one of her own.
I expected to be repulsed by aspects of her care. Initially her toileting showed her distress. But a few days later she cuddled in for her formula and I felt absolute unconditional love.
We jumped about the back yard together, but she only practiced her kickboxing on him. I never thought about the day she would leave. She taught me so much. I may have taken in an orphan but her love was what I needed. She was the one who helped me. ❤
If you look closely, you can see her toe peeking out of my underarm. Was she trying to tickle me? 😀
A joey! I want one too ❤ ❤ lovely!

Such great animals. You never really realize how small they start out. That’s really cool.

She was so tiny when I first took her home. The photo was after she’d grown quite a lot. But still she looks so sweet and young.

Lovely picture. Will you be able to keep her when she gets older? (forgive my ignorance, I’ve never seen a Kangaroo, except on documentaries… it is a kangaroo, isn’t it?)

Yes, she’s a kangaroo. We found her a lovely home near a mob (group of kangaroos).

I’d love to be that close to a kangaroo (and a koala…) at least once!
