I was listening to some music one night and my Mum said, ‘who’s that?’
‘Lyle Lovett’, I said.
She said, ‘yeah, but who is it?’
‘Lyle Lovett’, I repeated
‘That’s nice but who is it?’
Is she having trouble hearing me, I thought, or has she lost her mind. I’m sure she thought I’d lost mine. This went on for quite some time until I realised she thought ‘I was saying ‘I love it’ not Lyle Lovett!
My Dad was just sitting there laughing. Dads know these things. 🙂
Too funny!!! Moms….

I have had that happen with my granddaughter. She just looks at me and sighs with exasperation.

Lyle Lovett! oops I mean I love it! Thank you so much for linking to RMoD. This was a wonderful moment of fun and funny. I love love love your ‘optimistic minstrel’ description. Just wonderful.

LOL! reminds me of Dr. Sheldon Cooper, PhD (The Big Bang Theory)… when he kept saying “AFK” (away from computer) but didn’t realize she was saying “Oh! I see” not OIC..
